Breathwork and Mindfulness Meditation course
Kindred's well rounded eight week Breathwork and Mindfulness Meditation course is a great way to get a taste of a range of different meditation techniques so that you can find the one that is right for you. The first week deals with the mind and why it finds it so hard to stop and simply be. The second and third weeks go into how to connect with your heart and the intuition of the gut. From there the focus is on the breathe then body scanning and feeling into energy. This course will give you a solid foundation and help you to find more peace and happiness throughout your day, leading to better relationships and more fulfillment.
Chaitanya Deva leads the meditation courses at Kindred. He embraced meditation as a daily practice in the early 90s while living at the Osho Ashram in India. This culminated in an invitation from his father Maitreya (the author of Unity: The Dawn of Consciousness) to sit in meditation with him. For the next 18 months, Chai mediated for between 4-16 hours each day. Equipped with this deep spiritual practice, he moved back to his birth country New Zealand in 2000.
Over the last few decades, he's studied martial arts, Reiki, personal development work with the More to Life Program, completed a Diploma in Therapeutic Massage and then undertook yoga teacher training at Hot Yoga in Nelson. Chai completed an additional 300 hours of teacher training at Purna Yoga in Byron Bay, Australia, in 2015. He developed and runs Kindred's teacher training program and regularly teachers on other teacher training programs.
